Varsity vs Northwestern MS-HS Boys varsity falls to 0-2. 0-1 in the TRC Coach Burrus Quotes: "I felt we played better at Northwestern, after the opener at Eastern. Kids were very determined as we opened with a 13-10 lead after one. We need to sustain our defense for the whole game. We are making some progress. Levi Merritt had 3 steals. He is making lots of positive plays, and really keying our defense. We forced Northwestern into 29 turnovers. That is a great accomplishment. Now, we have to really focus on converting those into points on the other end. Jack Gochenour played a really good game for us. He scored 32 points at Northwestern. Pretty impressive. He also shot 16 free throws. Jack has taken a lot of offensive responsibilty on this team. Tristyn Herschberger has been our leading rebounder the first two games. He has really been pursuing balls for us. Brody Kubly did good work out front on defense, and offense. I thought Cohen Helmuth came in and really played solid defense. Marcell Sims will continue to improve on both ends. He is good on the offensive glass. He is doing better with the speed of varsity basketball. He brings a lot to our defense. Treson Ambrose and Tyler Adams both played good fefense in this game. Jaxon Cole, Jude Callane, and Evan Zeiser all came in at the end of this game and gave us quality time. Our next game is Friday vs Wabash, at Wabash. They will be tough to beat. They are very well-coached and have a good team with quality kids. They love to play basketball. Then, Oak Hill at home on Saturday night. They are very talented. Another tough weekend for us."
