Lady Braves Advance to Miami County Championship

The Lady Braves began the Miami County Tournament against Caston at 12:00 pm, followed by North Miami facing Peru at 1:45 pm in the second semi-final. In the first quarter, Caston quickly took a 7-0 lead within the first minute. Aubrey Stoll scored the first points for the Lady Braves with an offensive rebound. Caston's teamwork and capitalization on turnovers led them to a 19-11 lead by the end of the quarter. In the second quarter, the Comets scored the first four points, extending their lead to 23-11 with 4:50 left. The Lady Braves improved their defense and found open players, cutting the deficit to 22-23 by halftime. Addie Maiben and Delaney Betzner contributed to an 11-0 run with their three-point shooting. During the third quarter, the Braves maintained strong defense and disrupted Caston's offense. They outscored Caston 18-7, taking a 40-30 lead into the fourth quarter. Aubrey Kaiser added 8 points, contributing to the Braves' success from the floor and free-throw line. In the final quarter, the Braves' teamwork resulted in five assists on six baskets. Their defense forced Caston into 17 turnovers throughout the game. The Braves won 54-41 and advanced to the championship game against Peru, who defeated North Miami 39-38 in the other semi-final. The championship game is scheduled for Tuesday, December 30 at 6:00 pm at Maconaquah High School.
