Betzner has Career night in Brave Win

Despite missing two players due to illness, the Lady Braves showcased impressive shooting in Royal Center, securing a decisive 70-32 victory over Pioneer. From the opening tip-off, Addie Maiben connected with Delaney Betzner for a deep three-pointer, putting the Braves ahead 3-0. In the first quarter, Betzner was on fire from beyond the arc, sinking four of her seven three-pointers on the way to her career high 28 points.. The Braves shot 7 out of 14 in the quarter, assisted by six plays to take a commanding 25-9 lead. Defensively, they forced 10 turnovers to create more scoring opportunities. The second quarter ended in a 14-14 tie, maintaining the Braves' lead at 39-23. Pioneer made a brief surge in the third quarter, scoring the first five points, but the Braves responded by outscoring them 31-4 for the remainder of the game, including a 21-0 run in the final quarter. The Braves intensified their defense, making it difficult for Pioneer to find the basket. Coach Davis's Comments: "I was really pleased with our ball movement early in the game, which led to open shots. Our defense truly excelled in the second half. Holding Pioneer scoreless in the fourth quarter demonstrated our defensive prowess. We received contributions from everyone, whether on offense or defense." Upcoming Event: On Thursday, January 15, the Lady Braves will host the "Braves vs Cancer" game against Western. The JV game starts at 6:00 pm, followed by varsity at 7:30. The event aims to raise funds for a local family, featuring old jersey sales for $10, a game ball raffle, halftime pop shot, and free will donations.
