We were successful by forcing 27 turnovers and collecting 15 steals. We had 64 shots to 49 shots for Peru. We struggled to hit the first half. Also, 11-22 from the free throw line hurt us. I have enjoyed the ability of this team to shift gears. I thought our defensive pressure was really was good throughout the game. We are learning a couple of Mac pressure defensive principles. 1. Be able to play hard for the whole 32 minutes. This is a shock to inexperienced players how hard you have to play. 2. Converting full-court pressure into half-court pressure. Our kids are really getting better at both of these key principles. I was very happy with the effort. We just left too many buckets out there in the first half. We scored 23 the first half, and 48 the second half. We are continuing to build this year. An example of growth was we were down 20 and it could have grown to 30. Remember what Peru did to Caston in the County. They won by 30, and Caston is really good. Peru has lost to Kokomo, Logan, Fort Wayne South, Columbia City, Tipton, Southwood, and Tipp Valley. We played Peru really tough. I am proud of that."
