Swimming & Diving (Girls) Places 5th at Carmel Sectional

The Lady Braves swam at the Carmel Sectional on 2/5 and seven qualified for Saturday's event on 2/7. The girls were highly motivated going into the first relay! The team of Collins, Duke, McManus, and Laber sat in 5th place right behind Carmel, Westfield, Western, and Noblesville. They made it to the final heat on Saturday in that event. In the 200 free, Chloe Jordan placed 10th and that secured her position in the preliminary race. Ellie Higgins and Madison Brennan placed 22 and 23. The 200 IM gave Macie McManus the 13th position and she was set to move on as well. Kyndal Collins placed 17th and was the 1st alternate with Lilly Resler dropping a second and placing her 21st. Zoie Laber was seeded 3rd and felt the pressure as she was able to secure her position right behind Noblesville and Carmel! She had a PR with a 25.53 going into Saturday's race. Molly Berryman placed 16th and was also able to move on. Lola Marin-Alcaraz was just edged out placing 19th. In the 100 fly, Macie McManus placed 11th and Molly Berryman in 14th. Arabella Seymoure was 18th. The 100 Free had Zoie Laber in 6th place with a PR at 55.53. Delaney Duke had a PR of 1:00.56 and she was in 13th place. Ellie Higgins placed 21st. Chloe Jordan placed 10th in the 500 free with Kamrynn New in 19th and Madi Brennan in 20th. The 200 free relay had the girls (Collins, Duke-PR, Berryman-PR, and Jordan) in 3rd place with a PR of 1:49.71! Kyndal Collins placed 13th in the 100 backstroke and moving on. Lilly Resler placed 18th with a PR of 1:22.78 and Arabella Seymoure placed 22nd. Delaney Duke came in 15th place in the 100 breaststroke earning her spot for Saturday with Lola Marin-Alcaraz in 18th and Delaney Farnham in 23rd. The 400 free relay team of Jordan, McManus, Berryman-PR, and Laber placed 3rd with a PR of 3:56.37! On Saturday the girls returned to Carmel: The 200 medley relay team of Kyndal Collins (bk 31.57 PR),Delaney Duke (br 34.54 PR), Macie McManus (Fly 28.76 PR), Zoie Laber (fr 24.59 PR) with a final time of 1:59.46! The team placed 5th with an all time PR. The 200 free, Chloe Jordan placed 9th with a final time of 2:00.98. In the 200 IM, Macie McManus dropped over two seconds going a 2:32.52 and placed 13th. Zoie Laber placed 5th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.34 as a lifetime PR. Molly Berryman placed 14th with a time of 28.18. Anna Lorenz placed 16th in diving with a score of 207.50. Macie McManus came in 12th with a final time of 1:09.34 in the 100 butterfly with Molly Berryman in 14th with a PR of 1:14.14. Zoie Laber came in 7th place with a PR of 55.37 and Delaney Duke came in at 12th place dropping a full second at 58.89! Chloe Jordan fought and came in 9th in the 500 free with a PR of 5:36.89. The 200 free relay team of Collins, Duke, Berryman, and Jordan came in 4th dropping a 100th of a second from Thursday at 1:49.70. Kyndal Collins placed 11th in the 100 backstroke at 1:11.86. Delaney Duke placed 12th with a PR of 1:16.37. The 400 free relay of Jordan, McManus-PR, Berryman, and Laber-PR placed 4th with a PR of 3:54.39 dropping 2 seconds from Thursday night. The Golden Goggles go Zoie Laber and Chloe Jordan. Both these young ladies placed the highest at both events earning their golden goggle. These two have been such mentors to our younger swimmers showing such strong leadership. I can't say enough about how much time they put into our sport. They will go far in anything they pursue.
