Varsity vs Southwood Jr-Sr High School Braves fall to 2-15. Coach Burrus Quotes:"Our young team played great at Southwood. We led a lot of this game and really battled, Southwood. It was like a sectional environment that this game was played in. I felt our kids responded very well to the to playing a tough team like Southwood. We were able to get stops at key times. The game came down to about three posessions at the end. We were tied at 60 all but Southwood's veteran team forced a couple of turnovers. The kids put us in position to win. We just couldn't finish it. I was really thrilled with the intensity we brought to this game. We got a lot out of this game. I felt Jaxon Cole played a great game for us He hit some big 3's and really got after the guards. He scored 11 points. Marcell Sims played great defense down low. He also scored 6 points. Jack Gochenour had 23 points and 9 big rebounds. He hit some huge shots in this game. Caiden Richards had 8 assists and really controlled things out front. Levi Merritt added 7 points and really worked hard on both ends. Cohen Helmuth scored 6 points off the bench. Treson Ambrose gave us great effort on both ends. We didn't win, but this was one of our best efforts of the season."
