The Maconaquah Lady Braves track and field team delivered a masterclass in speed and endurance at the Apache Invitational on Friday, May 1, 2026. Securing a staggering six first-place finishes and sweeping several key relay events, the Lady Braves proved themselves in the highly competitive field. Individual Excellence The night was headlined by several standout individual performances that showcased Maconaquah’s versatility across sprints, hurdles, and distance: Molly Berryman was the undisputed queen of the sprints, capturing 1st Place in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, setting a blistering tone for the team. Zoie Laber showcased her range by taking 1st Place in the 400-meter dash, demonstrating elite speed endurance. Chloe Jordan anchored the distance crew with a dominant 1st Place finish in the 1600-meter run. Ani Osornio cleared the field to take 1st Place in the 100-meter hurdles, while teammate Delight Pier followed closely with a strong 3rd Place finish. Pier also secured 2nd Place in the 300-meter hurdles. Relay Domination Maconaquah’s relay teams were the highlight of the evening, showing the chemistry and depth of the program. Both the 4x100 and 4x400 teams completely distanced themselves from the competition: 4x100 Meter Relay (1st Place): The quartet of Jalynn Sullivan, Ani Osornio, Evelyn Hanson, and Molly Berryman "dominated the competition" with near-perfect handoffs and explosive speed. 4x400 Meter Relay (1st Place): The team of Delight Pier, Macie McManus, Chloe Jordan, and Zoie Laber put on a clinical performance to secure another gold for the Braves. 4x800 Meter Relay (2nd Place): Chloe Jordan, Isabel Berry, Macie McManus, and Zoie Laber battled through a tough field to take home the silver. Field Event Success The success wasn't limited to the track. Evelyn Hanson proved her athleticism in the pits, soaring to a 1st Place finish in the Long Jump, adding crucial points to the Lady Braves' overall tally. "Tonight was a total team effort," said the Maconaquah coaching staff. "Seeing our girls not only win individual titles but truly dominate the relay events shows the depth and heart of this roster. They are hitting their stride at exactly the right time in the season." The Lady Braves look to carry this massive momentum into their upcoming conference matchups as they continue their 2026 campaign.
