Maconaquah Schools

The Lady Braves hosted Oak Hill in our season opener Tuesday night. After a rough start in set one(10-25) the Braves fought back to win a tight set two 25-23. Inconsistent play plagued our team in the third set and we lost 14-25. Down two sets to one, the Braves played with confidence and grit to win the fourth set 25-19. After both teams traded service runs the fifth set was tied 8-8. Oak Hill made a few more plays and a few less errors at the end and won the match 15-12. Our JV team started their season with a two set loss, 14-25, 12-25. We did not play particularly well, and yet had a chance to beat a very good Golden Eagles team. As a possible sectional opponent, we know we could meet again in October. It was good to finally play another opponent and we will learn from tonight's match. There was good energy in the gym tonight and our student section was in full effect, which our girls greatly appreciate. We will get back in the lab and get better as we head to Peru Thursday for our first conference match.
