Maconaquah Schools

The Lady Braves were in steamy Tig Arena for a conference match Thursday against Peru. Our Ladies were able to gut out a win (25-21, 25-16, 26-24) to go 1-1, (1-0 TRC) on the season. The JV team fell in three sets (23-25, 27-25, 8-15) after an improved performance. The Braves were led by setter Delaney Betzner with 32 assists, three blocks, five aces and eight digs. Fellow Seniors Kasey Murry and Ireland Kile both downed eight kills with Kile adding three blocks. Senior Outside Hitter Lucee Jernagan put away five kills and Aubrey Kaiser blocked three balls and had 10 digs. Junior Libero Naomi Cook served four aces and saved seven rallies with a dig. Overall we had good energy and enthusiasm and it helped us get our first victory of the season. The Jv was lead by Bailei Boggs with six kills and two blocks, and Kylee Brooks with four kills. Ryleigh Marbuger passed out 11 assists from the setter position. Brinley Meyer dug up nine balls and had four aces to lead the back row. Maconaquah heads to Kokomo for the Kokomo Invitational Saturday with our first match at 9 am vs Colombia City. We will use the four matches Saturday to try and improve, find our best lineups, and defend our title from last year!
