FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Maconaquah Braves Kick Off Cross Country Season at Jacob Graff Memorial Invitational LOGANSPORT, IN – The Maconaquah Braves cross country team officially launched their season on the road, competing at the annual Jacob Graff Memorial Invitational hosted by Logansport High School. Facing stiff competition in their season opener, the Braves displayed grit, determination, and strong early-season form across both the boys' and girls' races. Boys' Race: Robinson Leads the Charge Sophomore Abel Robison set a powerful pace for the boys' team, breaking into the top 15 with an impressive 15th-place overall finish. Robinson crossed the line in a blazing 18:11.3 to lead the Braves squad. Senior leadership and solid pack running rounded out the team's performance, with Jacob Bowman pacing through in 22:51.3, followed closely by freshman Cory Hayes Jr. (24:14.3), junior Augustus Higgins (24:14.8), and junior Hunter Jenkins (24:33.2). Personal records were set by Cory Hayes, Augustus Higgins, and Hunter Jenkins. Girls' Race: McManus Stars in Top 25 Finish On the girls' side, junior Macie McManus delivered a standout performance to open her junior campaign. McManus navigated the course with ease, placing 23rd overall with a strong time of 23:35.2. Sophomore runners June Schrock (26:26.1) and Eleanor Higgins (29:11.4) also put together tough, competitive runs to kick start their sophomore seasons.
