The Lades Braves swept Cass in a road TRC match up Thursday to remain unbeaten(2-0) in league play. The set scores were 25-10, 25-15, 25-20. The JV team started the evening with a solid outing to give them their first win for Coach Asijah Miller 23-25, 25-17, 15-10. The JV was led by Ava Shively with seven kills and two aces. Kylee Brooks added four kills and two aces while Brinley Meyer led the back row with six digs. Ryleigh Marburger had eight assists and two aces from the setter spot. Abbie Pearce served three of the team's 12 aces for the JV squad. The Braves started strong with Kasey Murry taking the first serve and making a long run to put doubt in the minds of the Lady Kings from the jump. We controlled the first set and only dropped 10 points as we missed zero serves and forced many free balls which we converted into kills. The second set saw the Braves keep the momentum and take control with a 2-0 lead. Lewis Cass put up a fight in the third set and we had a few more miscues, but the girls remained focused and put the match away 25-20. Lucee Jernagan put in work with 12 kills from the Outside Hitter position and Ireland Kile downed nine kills and six digs from the MB spot. Kasey Murry had lots of pop attacking to put down seven kills and dug up seven balls on defense playing OH opposite Jernagan. Libero Naomi Cook saved 11 rallies with a dig and Aubrey Kaiser dug up nine balls to save a point. Captain Delaney Betzner dished 25 dimes, dug up 10 balls, and missed zero serves in another all around impressive performance. The Braves are now 10-2 ( 2-0 TRC) on the year. We rest up this weekend and are back in conference action Tuesday at Wabash.
