8th Grade vs Peru High School (2 - 1) Win Maconaquah won the county rival battle with scores of 25-20, 20-25, 15-9. Maconaquah had a 7 point run on consecutive serves in set 1 to win and Peru followed with a 7 point run of consecutive points to win set 2. The 3rd set was dominated by Maconaquah winning the battle at the net with attacks and tips to the open court. It was a game of service runs in aces and consecutive points out Adela Houlihan having 10 service points and 6 aces followed by Ruby Kintner with 8 points and Ellie Chilcutt and Hattie Hatcher with 7 each and all with 3 aces each. The game was played with volleys from both teams with The Lady Braves leading in attacks from, Dena Salazar (12), Adela (5)and Hattie (5) while also delivering 12 assists. Serve receptions were made by Ruby (12),Adela and Ellie (6). Keeping the ball in play with digs were Ellie (12), Dena (4) and Evelyn Fruth and Cayman Reeser with (3) each. The team refused to lose as they stayed composed and determined in the 3rd set. Tonight they play Manchester at home. Come see the team in ACTION!
