For four straight years, Aubrey Stoll’s golf season has ended on the regional stage. On Friday at Harrison Hills Golf and Country Club in Attica, the Maconaquah senior walked off a regional course for the final time, closing not only an outstanding individual career, but also an incredible chapter in Lady Braves golf history. Stoll battled her way to a 91 on the long and demanding Harrison Hills layout, finishing tied for 27th overall. Her score was more than nine shots better than the field average of 100.1 on a day when the course’s length and fast, challenging greens made scoring difficult. It wasn’t Stoll’s best day, and she would be the first to admit she didn’t have her “A” game. But what she did have was the same competitiveness and toughness that carried her through four years of varsity golf. She parred the second hole, added another par on No. 9 and then put together back-to-back pars on holes 11 and 12. Even when things didn’t go according to plan, Stoll continued to battle, refusing to let one difficult hole turn into several. That fight has become a trademark of her career. Friday also marked the end of a remarkable family run for Maconaquah golf. Aubrey is the youngest of four Stoll sisters — Renee, Courtney, Miranda and Aubrey — who together have left one of the strongest family legacies in Lady Braves golf history. Combined, the four sisters appeared in 12 regionals, earned six All-Conference honors, won two conference championships, captured three sectional titles and recorded three top-three individual finishes at sectionals. Aubrey and Miranda each advanced to regionals four times, giving the family eight regional appearances between the two of them alone. For years, the Stoll name has been a constant in Maconaquah girls golf. One sister followed another, each adding her own accomplishments while helping raise the expectations for the program. On Friday, Aubrey became the last of the four sisters to finish her final regional round. The 91 may not have been the number she hoped to write on the scorecard, but her final season — and her entire career — was about much more than one score. It was about four consecutive regional appearances. It was about four consecutive all conference honors. It was about competing among the best golfers in the area year after year. It was about representing Maconaquah with toughness and consistency. And it was about carrying on a family tradition that stretched across four sisters and more than a decade of Lady Braves golf. When Aubrey walked off the 18th green at Harrison Hills, one outstanding high school career came to an end. So did an unforgettable era for the Stoll family and Maconaquah girls golf. So to the four sisters, good luck. And to their biggest fans: Brad and Amy Stoll, Larry and Cindy Miller thank you for all the support over the years.
