7th VB 7th Grade vs Oak Hill High School Loss The Lady Braves were back at home last night taking on Oak Hill. While we didn't come away with the win, I honestly believe this may have been one of the best games these girls have played all season. Final Score: Set 1: Oak Hill 25 — Maconaquah 21 Set 2: Oak Hill 25 — Maconaquah 11 The scoreboard doesn't always tell the whole story, and tonight was a perfect example. The girls served well. They received serves well. We had some really great tips and kills, we were communicating with each other, and we were making the right moves on the court. There was one very obvious area where we struggled, and that's something that isn't going to be fixed overnight. It's going to take practice, repetition, and learning how to recognize and apply those skills in the middle of a game. And that's okay. We know what we're working toward. What made me the proudest, though, was seeing the girls walk away from the court pleased with themselves. They knew they had given it everything they had. They knew they had worked hard. They knew they had played some really good volleyball. And honestly? That means more to me than the number on the scoreboard. Winning is exciting, but being able to walk away from a tough loss and say, "I'm proud of how I played" is a confidence and maturity that will carry these girls much further than any single game. So no heads hanging! We're taking the good, learning from what challenged us, and getting back to work. Practice tonight. Road game tomorrow. It's our third game of the week, and we're ready to get back out there and compete. Let's go, Lady Braves!
