Lady Braves Finish TRC Play with a 3-0 Win Against Northfield

By Jason Watson | Oct 2, 2026 1:26 AM

The Lady Braves welcomed Northfield to town for our final conference match of the year. After defeating the Lady Norse in a close match two weeks ago, we knew we were in for a battle. The ladies in blue came out and handled business and dispatched Northfield in three sets (25-14, 25-17, 25-17). We thoroughly controlled the first set by limiting our mistakes and applying pressure on our opponent. We got out to a big lead in the second set only to allow Northfield back in the game. We gathered our composure and put set two away. The third set saw us again limit our errors and play aggressively to finish the match strong. The JV Braves only played one set due to Northfield's injuries and played some of their best ball all year to win 25-17. Aria Disney had three kills and Brinley Meyer had four digs. Ryleigh Marburger served two aces and passed out five assists. Setter Delaney Betzner led our efficient offense tonight with 28 assists while having nine digs and three blocks on defense. Ireland Kile downed 11 kills and dug up 12 balls. Lucee Jernagan had 10 kills and fellow OH Kasey Murry tallied nine kills and 10 digs on the match. Aubrey Kaiser had two kills, eight digs, and three blocks. Freshman Bailei Boggs added five big blocks for the Braves. Ida Kiener dug up five balls and Sara Gil-Bonnin added a kill and a block. Maconaquah is now 21-7 (8-1 TRC) with two matches left in the regular season. Tonight was one of our cleanest matches of the year as we wrap up second place in the Three Rivers Conference. We find out our sectional draw on Sunday and have home matches Tuesday (Logansport) and Thursday (Tipton).
