Maconaquah Cross Country Braves Shine at Conference Championships

The Maconaquah Braves cross country team brought peak effort and sharp postseason focus to the Three Rivers Conference (TRC) Championship meet. Highlights included All-Conference honors, personal records, season-best performances, and a top-15 individual finish for the girls' squad. Boys' Division: Robinson Claims All-Conference; Braves Pack Delivers Personal Bests Sophomore Abel Robinson set the tone for the Braves, delivering a stellar performance to secure All-Conference recognition. Robinson surged into the lead pack early, crossing the finish line in 17:21 to claim an impressive 8th-place finish overall. In his final conference championship appearance, senior Jacob Bowman turned in his best performance of the fall, clocking a season-best time of 20:38 to provide key leadership on the course. The momentum continued down the line with personal records across the scoring pack. Junior Auggie Higgins shattered his personal best, crossing the line in 21:31, while junior Hunter Jenkins also logged a career-best time of 22:38. Freshman Cory Hayes executed a strong, steady race to round out the varsity squad in 23:09. Girls' Division: McManus Claims Top-15 Finish to Lead Lady Braves Freshman Macie McManus spearheaded the charge for the Lady Braves, running a tactical, aggressive race from the gun. McManus crossed the line in 22:18, earning a hard-fought 15th-place finish in a competitive conference field. Sophomore June Schrock posted a strong 23:58 finish, while sophomore Ellie Higgins showed relentless determination, completing the course in 30:50.
