The boys varsity soccer season got off to a little bit of a rough start with the Braves going down 0-1 at Caston early in the first game of the year. However, this errant goal seemed to wake the boys, who controlled the rest of the game. This years team has many new faces as the TRC champions from last year lost 7 of the 11 starters. However, the strong senior leadership helped to settle the team. Kevin Nord started the scoring for the Braves with 14 mins remaining in the first half to tie the Comets. In the 2nd half, with the wind, the Braves opened up the game and saw scoring from Kade Nye, Louis Mendoza, Corey Nord and two goals from Bennett Isenberg, who also recorded three assists on the afternoon. The Braves have a very tough schedule this first week of the season with 4 games. Kokomo High School comes to Maconaquah on Tuesday at 6 PM. Thursday, the Braves travel to Taylor and Saturday, TRC Foe Wabash comes to Maconaquah for a boys and girls double header. Come on out to a game and see the Braves in action!
