In the second game of the year for the Braves, they played a very good technically sound Kokomo team. Kokomo started the game strong with solid team passing and collections and aggressive defense. They took an early 1-0 lead ten minutes into the game. The Braves, coming off their first game of the season the day before against Caston, seemed to have a slow start. Early in the 2nd half, Kokomo found the net for their second goal when the Kats player put back a cross bar deflection that beat the Mac goalkeeper freshman Brody Kubly. As the game went on, the Kokomo aggressiveness seemed to slow and Mac was able to put together some good offensive possessions. With 15 minutes remaining in the 80 minute contest, the Braves found their first goal when Corey Nord placed a perfect corner kick. With the ball bouncing around in the Kats goal area, Kevin Nord made a fantastic athletic play and put the ball home. Then two minutes later, the Braves found the net again as a Kade Nye throw in to Bennett Isenberg on the goal line allowed Bennett to beat a defender and pass to a waiting Joel Loshnowsky who put the ball home. At this point, Kokomo was rattled, but still putting pressure on the Braves defense. The Kats defense however, would give up one more goal as Kaden Hanson had a breakaway and played the ball perfectly to Bennett Isenburg, who made a fantastic play to keep the ball from the Kokomo goalie's hands and found the back of the net. The Braves then ran out the remaining 10 minutes of game time to take the 3-2 win. The Braves are now 2-0 on the season and will play at Taylor on Thursday 8/22. Then at home again for a Boys/Girls double header against TRC rival Wabash at Maconaquah on Sat 8/24.
