Maconauqah Boys Soccer Beats Taylor 2-0

The Maconaquah Boys Soccer team played their 3rd game in 4 days and got the win vs (a much-improved vs last year) Taylor soccer team. Taylor held the Braves scoreless in the first half and the play was fairly equal. Maconaquah players seemed to play a little slow after the game vs Kokomo two days previous. The Braves were also without 2 of their starters due to injury and sickness. With the next man up mentality, the second half worked out much better for Maconaquah. The Braves got on the board with the first goal when Kaden Hanson cleaned up a miss played Taylor ball and beat the goalie with a very strong shot. The second goal came from a Corey Nord corner kick. The kick had enough spin to bend into the top far side of the net. The play was assisted by Garrett McManus who did a great job of hassling the goal area and engaged two defenders allowing the corner kick to clear the goal line. The Braves are now 3-0 on the season and have another game on Saturday. There will be a Girls/Boys double header vs Wabash with the girls playing at 10 am and the boys beginning approximately around Noon.
