The Maconaquah Boys Varsity Soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season with the win over TRC foe Wabash. In the boy's 4th game of the week and heat of the day, they played well enough to control game and squeeze in 4 goals. Scoring for the Braves with 2 goals each were Bennett Isenburg and Kevin Nord. Bennett's first goal was assisted by Louis Mendoza, who drove the ball to the baseline, beat a defender and laced a perfect assist to a waiting Isenburg. Kevin Nord's two goals came from assists by his twin brother Corey Nord on Corner Kicks. In both goals, Corey's free kick found Kevin who headed the ball passed the goalie. The defense played really well and held Wabash to just 2 shots on goal which keeper Brody Kubly handled easily. The defense is made up by Corey Nord, Joel Loshnowsky, Kobe Bowman and Carlos Gallardo. With this win, the Braves remain undefeated going into the much anticipated matchup with TRC newcomer Northwestern on Tuesday night. This is the first year that Northwestern joins the TRC, but their soccer team is well known. The game, at 5 pm, will be the first of another Boy's/Girls doubleheader. Would be great to have a large crowd travel to Northwestern to watch the squads.
