Varsity vs Huntington North High School (2 - 1) Win The Maconaquah volleyball team was in Huntington Saturday for the eight team Huntington North Invitational. The ladies played four matches on the day and came away 3-1, finishing in second place. Our first match was against Fort Wayne Wayne and we were able to win comfortably 25-8, 25-18. Our next match was against the host Lady Vikings from Huntington North. We had control in the first set and won 25-18. We started poorly in set two but came back only to lose 23-25, setting up the decisive third set. The girls started strong and keep their composure to win 15-11. The third straight match saw us defeat Eastbrook 25-22,25-18 to send us to the championship match vs Northridge. We didn't play out cleanest match but our strong service game kept us close with Northridge before falling 22-25, 19-25. The Lady Braves are now 7-4 on the season. We had a good overall day of volleyball and learned a lot that will help us later in the year.
