Senior Daisy Williams led the scoring for the Braves with a 75. Daisy played her usual game of hitting fairways and greens. Daisy started her round well by being even par for the first seven holes with one birdie, one bogey and five pars. Her ball striking remained solid all day, but her putter failed her late as putts just barely missed leading to her three over finish. Her 75 was good enough for third place overall. Sophomore Aubrey Stoll started strong with a par on the challenging par three fifth hole. She played solid all day, but couldn’t catch any lucky breaks. During the round she was observed having two putts and one 50 yard chip lip out instead of going in. Despite these bad breaks, Aubrey finished second for the Braves with a score of 92. Senior Finley Dobbs continued to show the grit that has made her a valuable piece on the varsity roster for the past three seasons. Finley struggled early and carded a 55 on her first complete nine holes (the back nine). Despite the struggle, she got refocused on her last five holes and played her last five holes in only 2 over par. Her final score of 100 was third on the team. Sophomore Delaney Duke was still not 100% physicall after an illness next week, but she did her best on each and every shot. Delaney’s impessive long game continues to gain consistency as she hit some drives that far out paced her playing partners. Only some short game issues, including some missed putts late, kept her final score from being better than 111. Fellow Sophomore Emma Bond had a trying day as her tee shots found trouble on the tight, water lined fairways. Despite a few high scores earlier, she battled back each time and finished with a 117. The final tally for the Lady Braves was a 377, good enough for a fifth place finish in the thirteen team field. As an added bonus, Rochester allowed two Lady Braves to play as individuals. Junior Jade Christopher, playing her first 18 hole tournament, did not play her best but she never stopped trying. Her final tally of 140 was a bit higher than she wanted, but was a good score for someone playing 18 holes for the first time. Freshman Emma Morris also played her first 18 holes and finished with a 125. She struggled at the start of her round, but after getting more comfortable was able to hit some fantastic shots. The Lady Braves at back in action on Tuesday, again at Round Barn against the 16th ranked Rochester Zebras who won the Rochester Invitational with an outstanding 317.
