On a rare Saturday evening game, the Maconaquah Boys Soccer team lost a tough match to Northwestern 2-1. The Braves were able to take a 1-0 lead into halftime when Bennett Isenburg beat the Northwestern goal keeper and practically dribbled into the net. Bennett had a fantastic game in nearly had 2 other goals, but the ball didn't bounce our way. With the wind in the 2nd half, Northwestern was able to take advantage of a strong crash on a corner kick to tie the game. Later in the 2nd, a Northwestern player drilled a 30 yard lazer of a shot, just under the crossbar to take the lead. The Braves could see a rematch of this game in sectionals at Maconaquah later this year. For now, the Braves fall to 4-2-1 on the season and will face North Miami in the 2nd game of a double header with the girls soccer teams playing at 5 pm. Come out to support the Braves!
