The Lady Braves came in second in a threeway match versus the state ranked Logansport and county rival Peru. Logansport won the match with an impressive 172, while Maconaquah was second with a 189 and Peru finished third with a 202. Peru’s Piercey Dyer was match medalist with a two under 34. Leading scoring for the Braves was Senior Daisy Williams with a 39. Daisy played a solid round overall, but it wasn’t to her high standards. She had some bad breaks when a tee shot bounced into the water and another bad break when her tee shot on the par three 8th hole hung up in high grass instead of onto the green. Senior Finley Dobbs and Sophomore Aubrey Stoll both carded 48s and their games were very similar on the evening. Both hit the ball well off the tee and from the fairway, but struggled with chipping and putting. Sophomore Delaney Duke’s round got off to a rough start as she made 7 on her first hole. She showed tremendous fortitude and got refocused and played as well as she could, even though she had trouble off the tee. Her final tally of 54 was good enough for 4th on the team. Sophomore Emma Bond did not have her A game on the evening as she had trouble off the tee and around the greens. Her finally tally of 60 was fifth best on the team. In Junior Varsity action, Emma Bond, Delaney Farnham and Jade Christopher all did well. Each of them are continuing to improve their game each and every match and are all threatening to break 60 each night. The Lady Braves are back in action on Thursday at the first Leaning Tree Girls Golf Invitational versus North Miami and Tippecanoe Valley As always, the Lady Braves appreciate the support of all the parents, family and friends that come out and support the Lady Braves each match.
