Maconaquah Boys soccer bounced back after a tough loss to Western with a very good win against Mississinewa at home in the 2nd game of the Girls/Boys double header. The Braves appreciated getting back on the turf field and it showed with much better passing during the game. Mac got an early lead 10 minutes into the game when Kaden Hanson received a thru ball, beat the defender and the goalie and found the side net with a really well placed shot. The Braves took a 2-0 lead later in the first half when Corey Nord found Kevin Nord on another header goal off Corey's corner kick. Mississinewa got on the board with 5 minutes left in the half with a really great shot from outside the corner of the PK area. At halftime with a 2-1 lead, the Braves talked about coming out fast in the 2nd half and not giving up the lead as they have done in their 3 losses on the season, most recently earlier this week at Western. Mississinewa was able to get a goal early in the 2nd half off a direct kick just outside the penalty area, but the Braves finished the scoring when Colton Beebe was fouled inside the Mississinewa penalty Box. Bennett Isenburg beat the goalie on the penalty kick to take a 3-2 lead. With this win, the Braves are 8-3-1 on the season and travel to TRC opponent Rochester on Saturday in the 2nd game of the girls/boys double-header.
