Varsity vs Western High School (3 - 1) Win The Braves were at Western Thursday night and came away with a victory in four sets 25-16, 25-18, 23-25, 25-14. Maconaquah moves to 13-7 on the season. The ladies in Blue were in control the first two sets but had a slew of missed serves in the third to give the Panthers the set and momentum. We were able to pick up our play and take control in the fourth set to secure the road win. Alyssa Birner had 12 kills,16 digs, and three aces playing all around for the Braves. MB Ireland Kile had an efficient nine kills on 18 swings along with three blocks. Katelyn Greis tallied six kills and five blocks from the other Middle spot. Addie and Averie Maiben both dug up 17 balls and Aubrey Kaiser saved 10 rallies and served four aces. The JV team had a solid performance with a 25-21, 25-14 win. Our service game was strong with 12 aces and Outside Hitter Leah Boggs downed six kills to lead the attack. The Braves welcome conference for Rochester to our hopefully hostile gym Tuesday for out next match.
