Maconaquah Schools

The 7th Grade Braves moved to 4-3 on the season and are riding a 4 game win streak with a 43-13 win over Northfield. The Braves were spurred by their defense in mixing man, zone, and press effectively. Scoring for the 7th grade: Martin Chaires (16 points), Wyatt Nichols (8 points), Gideon Pier (7 points), Jackson Betzner (6 points), Colt Johnson (4 points), and Chasten Wilson (2 points). The 8th grade Braves remain undefeated (7-0) after beating Northfield 47-23. After a competitive first half (24-17), the Braves kicked up their defense in the second half allowing only 6 points in the final 2 quarters. Northfield put up a good fight, playing with only 6 players due to injury in a game that was closer than what the final score showed. Scoring for the 8th grade: Brayden Stamper (11 points), Tre Rader (10 points), Jaxon Cole (9 points), Evan Zeiser (8 points), Caleb Barnett (3 points), and Levi Merritt/Bentley Miller/Colt Myers each with 2 points. The 7/8 grade Braves return to action with 3 games next week.
