The 7th grade Braves fell to a good Western team tonight 55-40 to even their season record at 4-4. They were led by Jackson Betzner (13 points), Gideon Pier (8 points), Braxton Allen (7 points), Wyatt Nichols (6 points), and Martin Chaires, Layne Miller and Blaine Morgan with 2 points each. The 8th grade boys were able to capture a win against Western this year (47-30). The Braves used a balanced scoring attack and another strong defensive effort to secure the victory. After Western came out strong, hitting four 3 pointers in the first quarter, the Braves defense held them to single digits in each of the final 3 quarters. The 8th grade team moves to 8-0 on the season. Scoring for the 8th grade Braves: Levi Merritt (13 points), Jaxon Cole (11 points), Brayden Stamper (9 points), Tre Rader (6 points), Evan Zeiser (6 points), and Colt Myers (2 points). The 7/8 Braves hit the road to play at the Berry Bowl in Logansport on Wednesday.
