After hitting 11 three-point shots on Tuesday against Carroll to set a school record, the Lady Braves went on the road again and hit 12 three point shots against Peru to break their own school record again. The Lady Braves won the game 64-43 in a TRC contest. The Lady Braves started the game off with playing great team basketball with 5 different players scoring, and three different players hitting three-point shots. Addie Maiben hitting three, 3pt shots in the quarter and Averie Maiben and Kasey Murry both coming off the bench to hit 3pt shots also. But it was also the Lady Braves defense that played really well to hold Peru to just 7 points in the quarter. The Lady Braves held a 23-7 lead at the end of the quarter. To start the 2nd quarter out, Delaney Betzner got the Lady Braves started again from behind the arch hitting three 3pt shots in the quarter and Addie Maiben hitting another one. The Lady Braves outscore Peru in the quarter 17-10, to take a 40-17 halftime lead. To start the 2nd half, Aubrey Stoll took advantage of the lady Braves hot shooting and was able to get to the basket for 6 points in the quarter. Averie Maiben hit her second 3pt shot of the game in that quarter, to help the Lady Braves outscore Peru 14-8 in the quarter to take a 54-25 lead going into the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Lady Braves got solid play from their bench. Eleanor Boshears had three rebounds in the quarter. Kasey Murry hit her second 3pt shot of the game to help the Lady Braves finish the game with a 64-43 win. On a side note, in Tuesday’s game when Delaney Betzner hit 7 3pt shots setting a school record, it was found that she actually tied the record. She shares the record with Madison Wilson who also hit 7 3pt shots in 2019-20 against Rochester. Congrats to both young ladies!
