Games like this prepare you for other big moments later in the season. I really liked our defense on Gavin Eldridge. He is a great player with a lot of experience. Our guys did a great job finding him all night. AJ Kelly was huge on defense. He came up with 6 steals. He made several dives for loose balls, and hit the key free throws in double overtime to secure the win. He found a way to score 18 points which were all big in this game. He also had 7 assists to really complete his great, all-around game. AJ has really raised his game this year. Landon Adams hit two big free throws to put us up eight in double OT. He played great defense all game to help us win. I also thought Devon Murry came up big in this championship game. He had 13 points and really covered well in our defense. Fuddy Kile had a double-double that we really needed. He is getting better at playing the middle of our zone. By playing there, Fuddy has a chance for lots of rebounds, and blocked shots. He is a tremendous athlete. It is nice to have him down there. Fuddy had 11 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 block shots. That is called filling the stat sheet. Josiah Ball really battled Peru and ended up with 24 points. He was guarded heavily throughout the game. Playing two nights in a row is what makes winning a championship like this special. You are getting a team's best shot, and your team is giving all they had. That is what I appreciate about Josiah Ball. He never backs down from a big challenge. Ball hit some big 3's in this game. I think his biggest shot was when Peru took a 2-point lead late in the game, Josiah came down and hit from 15 feet to tie it up. He also added 9 rebounds and had a huge steal in the first overtime. He had a game-saving block to save the game. I will always remember that block. This Miami County Championship means so much. These kids have won back to back county championships. With Peru, it is probably never going to be easy. I am sure they (Peru) feel the same way. I want to thank everyone who attended this tournament. Thank you Brave fans. We felt your backing and support at both games. What a great crowd of Brave fans for that championship! Also a shoutout to Ray Davis and the Lady Braves. The girls had a great tournament. I was very proud of how the girls battled. They overcame a North Miami team that had beat them earlier. That took a lot for the girls to get them.
