Maconaquah Schools

The 7/8th grade boy's basketball teams traveled to Southwood Jr/Sr High where they split games with the Knights. The 7th grade Braves dropped to 6-6 on the year with a close 27-24 loss. The offense went cold in the 2nd half only scoring 9 points against Southwood's stingy defense. They were lead in scoring by Jackson Betzner and Gideon Pier with 7 points a piece, Martin Chaires and Wyatt Troyer each chipped in 4 and Layne Miller contributed 2 points. The 8th grade boys came away with another victory against the Knights, 43-21. After a little bit of a slow start, they were able to rely on their defense - shutting the Knights out in the 2nd quarter and heading into the locker room with a 19-6 lead at half. In the second half, the Braves played strong and were able to get deeper into their substitution rotation with all of the boys getting good minutes. Eight out of the ten boys on the roster were able to contribute on the scoring sheet! The 8th grade moves to 11-1 on the season. Scoring for the 8th grade: Tre Rader (10 points), Levi Merritt (10 points), Brayden Stamper (6 points), Kaysin Workman (6 points), Bentley Miller (4 points), Caleb Barnett (3 points), Colt Myers (2 points), and Jaxon Cole (2 points). Both teams return to action at Mac with back to back home games - Wednesday/Thursday.
