7/8BBB Wrap Up Conference Play with a Pair of Wins

The 7/8 grade boys finished up their regular season conference schedule with a pair of wins while hosting Lewis Cass on Thursday night. The 7th grade finished with a 5-4 record in conference play, while the 8th grade finished unbeaten at 9-0. The 7th grade was able to improve to 7-7 overall with an all around good performance in their 43-7 win against the Kings. They played aggressively on the defense, shared the ball well, and gathered 9 rebounds on the offensive end. The 7th grade Braves were lead in scoring by Wyatt Troyer with 13, Jackson Betzner had 9, Martin Chaires with 8, Braxtyn Allen and Gideon Pier with 4 each, Layne Miller with 3 and Braxton Manriquez with 2. The 8th grade boys were able to jump out to an early lead and maintain control with a dominating performance against a shorthanded Kings squad. The boys played aggressive, overwhelming defense which resulted in fast break points for the Braves who went into halftime with a 29-1 lead. The Braves took the foot off the gas a little with a final score of 44-17. The 8th grade team improves to 13-1 overall. Scoring for the 8th grade: Tre Rader (13 points), Jaxon Cole (9 points), Levi Merritt (7 points), Caleb Barnett (6 points), Brayden Stamper (4 points), Abel Robison (3 points), and Bentley Miller (2 points). The 7/8 teams return to action next week for the final week of the regular season before hosting the Mac Invite (1/25) followed by the RRC Tourney during the last week in January.
