The Lady Braves concluded their season last night in the Wes Del Regional Finals, facing Delta and finishing with a score of 53-57. With a record of 16-9, they achieved the third most wins in school history. The game opened with Addie Maiben sinking a three-pointer, giving the Lady Braves a quick 3-0 lead. However, Delta responded with a remarkable 14-0 run for the remainder of the quarter, shooting 6 of 13 (46%). The Lady Braves struggled, shooting only 1 for 6 and committing 8 turnovers. In the second quarter, the Lady Braves found their rhythm, beginning with a strong defensive effort. Their shooting improved, but they still trailed by 10 points at halftime, with a score of 15-25. They managed to reduce turnovers, allowing for more shot attempts and outscoring Delta 12-11 in this quarter. The third quarter saw the Lady Braves further intensify their defense, forcing Delta into turnovers that led to easy three-point shots. The team shot 4 for 6 from beyond the arc during this period. At one point, they cut the deficit to just 2 points. However, Delta consistently answered back, and the Lady Braves outscored Delta again, 16-14, bringing the score to 31-39. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Braves demonstrated their fighting spirit with another strong run, fueled by excellent shooting from three-point range, hitting 4 for 7. With just 1:47 left in the game, they narrowed the gap to 49-51. Unfortunately, Delta's leading scorer, Barr, responded with an old fashion three-point play, extending their lead to 5 points. Despite another late push from the Lady Braves, and outscoring Delta in the quarter 22-18, they ultimately fell short, finishing the game at 53-57. Coach Davis’s Comments: “First, the coaches and players would like to thank everyone who made the trip to support the team. Brave Nation was loud and provided the energy we needed to fight back in the second half. Second, I’m incredibly proud of our players for their effort throughout the week and their Brave Pride during the game, the Lady Braves return all their players and will learn from this experience and built off of this years success. Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to my coaching staff for their dedication and encouragement throughout the season and our tournament run, as well as to their families for allowing them to be away.” Season Accomplishments: Wins: 16 (third all-time) Three-Pointers Made (3FGM): 192 - program record Three-Point Field Goals Attempted (3FGA): 597 - program record Three-Point Field Goal Percentage (3FG%): 32.2% - program record Assists: 320 Steals: 330 Game Stats: 3FGM: +7 FT%: +33% Steals: +1 Individual Stats: Ireland Kile: 16 points, 2 rebounds Delaney Betzner: 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal Addie Maiben: 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals Aubrey Stoll: 5 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals Kasey Murry: 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals Aubrey Kaiser: 4 rebounds, 3 assists
