Maconaquah Middle School Co-Ed Soccer traveled to Eastern on Tuesday night, coming home with a 3-1 victory. The scoring started slow as the Braves battled the windy conditions and some first game jitters. The lone goal of the first half came as Max Berryman made a nice pass into Jaxon Cole who tapped it into the corner of the net. The Braves came out of half time ready to go, scoring their 2nd goal within 30 seconds into the half. The goal came after Kamarious Armstrong pressured the ball causing a bad Eastern pass. Diego Jimenez gained possession of the ball and passed over to Martin Chaires, who knocked it in. Eastern scored a goal of their own making it 2-1 with 15 minutes left the play. The final goal of the match came on a long throw in by Cohen Beebe to Evan Zeiser, who passed it up to Martin to make it 3-1 on his second goal of the night. Blaine Morgan had a great game in goal for the Braves. First year Head Coach Braxton Wilhelm was pleased with his team's effort but sees much room for improvement, saying, "It's always nice to secure the first win of the season but we have a lot of things to work on in order to reach our full potential this season." The Braves host the Taylor Titans at Mac Stadium this Thursday.
