Thursday night became a high scoring affair as the MMS Braves hosted the Taylor Titans. After jumping to a quick 3-0 lead, the Braves slowed down and became more deliberate about possessing the ball with good passing and spacing. The balance on the field was key in getting everyone on the team involved in the game plan - and created opportunities for 12 different players to score for the Braves. The stat sheet included Martin Chaires (3 goals), Diego Jimenez (2 goals), Max Berryman (1 goal, 1 assist), Cohen Beebe (1 goal, 1 assist), Jaxon Cole (1 goal, 2 assists), Evan Zeiser (1 goal, 2 assists), Kamarious Armstrong (1 goal), Gideon Pier (1 goal, 2 assists), Levi Merritt (1 goal), Caleb Barnett (1 goal), Xavier Waller (1 goal), and William Friend (1 goal). Goalkeepers Xavier Waller and Luca Pirrello held the Titans scoreless. Coach Wilhelm was happy with the balanced attack saying, "Anytime you can get that many kids involved in the scoring, it's going to be hard for the other team to figure out who they need to focus their defensive efforts on. Our kids are playing very unselfish and it shows on the field and in the stat sheet. I'd also like to give a shout out to first year Assistant Coach Zachary Sparks - his work with the midfielders and strikers is already making our offense start to click!" The Braves are 2-0 and return to action next Monday as they host Wabash.
