Braves over Tigers in four sets Varsity vs Peru High School (3 - 1) Win The Lady Braves welcomed our rivals from Peru Thursday for a conference match. The Braves came away with the win 25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22 to go 2-0 and 1-0 TRC for the season. Maconaquah was led by Junior Ireland Kile with 10 kills, two blocks, 21 digs, and four aces. Fellow Junior Kasey Murry floored eight kills and two blocks while Nekane Hernandez downed six kills and dug up 13 balls. MB Kaitlynn Bunch also tallied four kills and five blocks from the front row. Setters Delaney Betzner and Averie Maiben doled out 15 and 12 sets respectively with Betzner having 13 digs and Maiben saving eight rallies. Libero Addie Maiben had 19 digs and 12 serve receptions in the match from the back row. Our service ace leader on the night was Aubrey Kaiser who served five aces and added six digs in back row action. Our JV team fell in two sets 22-25, 22-25 .The JV Lady Braves were led by Libero Naomi Cook with 11 digs and three aces. It was not the prettiest match but the Lady Tigers were very scrappy and kept many balls alive, keeping us out of rhythm. We were able to adjust and take care of our side of the net to get our first TRC win of the year. We hope to clean up our game as we head to Kokomo Saturday for the 9 team Kokomo Invitational. Play begins at 9 am and we play four matches on the day.
