Braves volleyball over Northwestern in 3 sets The Lady Braves moved to 12-2 and 4-0 after downing Northwestern 25-9, 25-21, 25-22. Maconaquah started strong building a big lead at the beginning of the match and was able finish off the first set comfortably. After controlling the first set the Braves had to fight off the Tigers scrappiness to win set two. We were able to stay in control of the third set throughout and finish the sweep. Ireland Kile and Kasey Murry led the Brave's offense with eight kills each. Nekane Hernandez downed six balls and Sanne Vermeer added five kills for the Braves. Delaney Betzner passed out 17 assists and Averie Maiben had eight assists from our setter spots. Our defense was well rounded with four players in double figures in digs. Ireland Kile had 15 digs to lead the Brave defense. Betzner dug up 13 balls and Nekane Hernandez added 11 digs. Averie Maiben tallied 10 digs from the back row. After competing hard the JV team fell in three sets in the opening match. The Braves next play at the 12 team Rossville Invite Saturday. We will look to find ways to improve as we get into the second half of the season and the heart of TRC play.
