The Lady Braves were victorious in our first match of the day over Western 25-18, 25-17, 25-14. We move on to the sectional championship match vs West Lafayette. The ladies were able to sweep the Panthers after losing in four sets to them last month. The Braves are now 23-8 on the season. After an unexpected lineup change, our girls handled the adversity with some laser like focus. Once we took control midway through the first set we took care of business and got an impressive win. Nekane Hernandez downed 14 kills to lead the Braves attack. Kasey Murry added nine kills from the OH position and MB Ireland Kile tallied eight kills and two blocks. Sanne Vermeer hit four balls for a kill and had two blocks playing Opposite for us. Delaney Betzner had three kills attacking in the match to round out our 38 kills. Setter Delaney Betzner had 19 assists and Averie Maiben had 15 assists running our offense. Ireland Kile dug up 16 balls on defense as the Braves leading defender. Averie Maiben had nine digs with Addie Maiben and Aubrey Kaiser each adding six digs. Addie Maiben surpassed the 1,000 career dig mark in the match!
